After completing my BSA Surfcoach level 1 course late 2007, I gained some working experience with a Dutch surfschool http://www.surfles.nl which is located in Scheveningen, The Netherlands. During the last weeks of the season 2007 I assisted several head instructors while they were giving ABC lessons to complete novelties.
In 2008 I did a few more ABC lessons as an assistent instructor but soon after started giving lessons on my own. The full season of 2008 (may – oktober). During that year I gave lessons for two surfschools: www.golfsurfschool.nl & www.surfles.nl. Next to giving beginner lessons I did a internship for four months at O’neill Belgium for preparing Dutch grommet Pascal van der Mast for his first European Pro Junior legs. Pascal van der Mast did three legs (Sopelana, St.Sebastian & Lacanau) and got through several rounds at all the events. After this internship I continued giving lessons in The Netherlands to finish the season.
After completing my BSA surfcoach level 2 In 2009 I started giving lessons again from may until oktober 2009. At this point I still work for two surfschools and give a variaty of surflessons to novelties throughout experienced surfers. I will continue in giving surflessons to gain a lot of experience that will contribute to me as becoming a allround surfcoach.
Photography working experience:
By the end of 2006 I started photography as something I liked doing. I started off with a simple Canon 400D but soon had it replaced by a Canon 40D. Together with a Sigma 100-300mm F4.0 I started making improving my skills as a surfphotographer. Late june 2008 I bought a Tokina 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 Fisheye and a SPL 40D Waterhousing. With this kit I’ve started developing my skills as a waterphotographer taking surfphotos from the line up.
Throughout the year 2008 I’ve got a lot of publications in 6surfmag (http://6.soulonline.nl). Several photos were published in this magazine and in the year 2009 I got the cover twice. Due to the succes I’ve had in 2008 I got my first real phototrip as a surfphotographer for Animal & Cskins Benelux. This trip went to Taghazoute, Marocco end of November 2008. The article was published in the first issue of 6surfmag 2009 and can be viewed in my portfolio.
In 2009 I did a phototrip as a surfphotographer for the Dutch Body Glove Team. This trip took place in July 2009 and went to Mimizan-Plage France. The goal of this trip was to shoot a lot of surfing but also some for the Body Glove collection 2009- 2010. These photos will be used for the exposure of there collection 2009-2010 in National and International surfing magazines. Possibly there will be an article published in 6surfmag issue 4 2009.
In August 2009 I did a phototrip as a surfphotographer for the Dutch Junior team of O’neill the Netherlands. This trip took place in August 2009 and went to Mimizan-Plage France.
